If your
bathroom is barely large enough to step from sink to toilet, you are not alone!
Modern homes are often blessed (or cursed) with small bathrooms. A family
bathroom typically has room for a bath, pedestal sink and toilet. Whereas an
en-suite probably has a small shower, sink and
toilet.
There
isn’t a lot of room to work with! If you are struggling to come up with a new
design for your small bathroom, don’t worry because we have some great tips to
help you get started!
Shower Bath
It’s hard to choose between a relaxing bath and an invigorating
shower. Both are great, but in a small bathroom, there isn’t room for a
separate shower and bath. Fortunately, shower baths are the answer! Or check

A shower
bath is the best of both worlds and takes up no extra space in a small
bathroom. Look for a shower bath and buy a glass screen to fit. One word of
advice though – make sure your bathroom fitter does a good job fitting the
shower screen, as water leaks can cause a lot of damage.
Bathroom Furniture
Combination
bathroom furniture is a tried and tested method of saving space. Instead of
sticking with traditional pedestal sinks and baths, go for a more contemporary
look with fitted furniture or Impey wet rooms. A combination
sink-and-toilet unit looks smart and takes up less space. You also get extra
storage for towels and toiletries. What’s not to like about that?
Wall Hung Sanitary
Fixtures and Fittings
Extra
floor space creates the illusion of a larger bathroom. Wall-hung sanitary-ware
is the key to creating extra floor space. Instead of a traditional pedestal
sink, go for a wall hung sink or toilet. Hiding the toilet cistern behind a
panel makes a small bathroom appear more modern and clutter-free. The other
advantage is that the bathroom is easier to clean, which is another reason why
our customers love wall hung sanitary-ware!
Storage
Excessive
clutter makes any room appear small, not least a bathroom. Fit a wall cupboard,
crosswater taps or
replace a pedestal sink with a sink unit. This lets you store towels and
toiletries out of sight and maximise the available
space.
Mirrors
Mirrors
also create the illusion of extra space. Fit a mirrored wall cabinet above the
sink. We stock a great range of illuminated mirrors and mirror cabinets that
will make your bathroom feel luxuriously spacious.
